Jörn Werner, Chief Executive Officer, is confident about the future. He is sure that Berner will continue to grow and actively shape the future with an innovative spirit, true to the motto of the Jubilee Year, "Passion for the Future". 50 years ago, in April 1957, Albert Berner started his screw business at Künzelsau, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Today the company is one of the leading direct sellers of small parts to the construction and automotive industries as well as other branches of industry. "Our jubilee gives us the opportunity to thank staff and customers for their trust and loyalty to Berner over the years", Jörn Werner said.
Live artists and prominent guests
The opening event of the Jubilee Year was a reception held in April the 17th at the company′s headquarters in Künzelsau. In the foyer of the new conference building, Albert Berner and Jörn Werner welcomed prominent guests from political and business life as well as employee delegations from all the Berner group companies. Guest speakers at the event were the Federal German Minister of the Economy, Michael Glos, the State President of Baden-Württemberg, Günther Oettinger and head of the Regional Authority of Hohenlohe, Helmut Jahn.
The event began with a kind of art performance and exhibition. Unusual works of art and sculpture made from Berner products were on display, on which the artists continued to work during the event – symbolizing the fact that Berner′s work is far from finished. Particularly eye-catching was a large world globe in the entrance hall in which an artist was hard at work. It represented the key objectives the company will strive for over the next few years: growth throughout the world and continuing expansion.
Lights out and spotlights on: Energetic show numbers thrilled the guests: With impressive choreography, actors and mime artists brought the Berner world to life in front of the eyes of the amazed guests. Scenes included poetic elements as well as comic and scurrilous numbers, with a kaleidoscope of different characters interacting together – just as in real life. From a completely new perspective, mime artists showed how easy life becomes with services and products from Berner; and what small but important things we would miss if it wasn′t for Berner. Video installations shed light on the achievements of staff and partners of the company in the international sphere by telling the stories of individual employees in different countries.
International festival weekend with Bryan Adams in July
The second highlight of the Anniversary Year will be an international festival weekend from 13 - 15 July in Künzelsau. All employees from the group companies are invited to this special event. They can look forward to a top-class live concert with Bryan Adams, whose music has given him millions of fans around the world. The same weekend, we are also planning a Berner Sports Festival with exciting competitions and a lot of fun and surprises for all.
